Ever since he'd met her
he was attracted to her light
but as we all know
life is much more complicated

so he'd settled on being a friend

and how they worked together wonderfully
she was his muse, his teacher, his guide
but he needed to leave and find another place
to walk down another path

luckily though some paths do cross
and they continued to be good friends
he always loved their time together
meeting for a lunch or a dinner with friends

each time he looked across the table
and deeply into her eyes
his heart wanted to cry out...
his want for her
his need for her
his love for her
but it never would come out
